looking for clothes

Postby Zeugma » Sat Jan 30, 2010 2:01 am

I have to dress a lot of middle eastern actors, nomads, people that are wearing jellaba, sort of gown, coat like a long shirt. It could be the same for male and female.
Has somebody these clothes? It seems there isn't and it is quite awkward to see them in jeans or skirt.

We are in the process of wrapping up a World Costumes Expansion pack and may have what you need. If you send us reference photos we can see if that is already built and/or whether we need to add it to our list. We would be willing to pre-sell you what we have for $79 with the understanding that you'd get the full package when it's released.

Alternatively the Judge's Robes in the Crime & Justice Pack could probably be textured to look more like what you are looking for.

Thank you, for your offer, I accept with pleasure.
You asked for some references, here is a jellaba (it exist for men and women) the hood is important because you can leave it behind or put it on the head like on this photo or put it much more forward, so you can hide your face (what can "play" in a movie).
Some of them should be loose, because they have to be able to ride on horses or camels. (remember Lawrence of Arabia).
About headpieces, for women I won't nead the islamic ones (burqa, hijab and niqab), only maybe a simple scarf not hiding the neck, it is even not so important-necessary for me; but for men a turban (saharian, maghrebian) that can be put in two ways, open or closed, would be very useful, and also one more oriental (middle-east):

The very limited choice in costumes is by far the biggest complaint I receive from clients. Boy! Do I look forward to this latest expansion!

I would hardly call it limited -- there are just a LOT of different styles in the world...!

There's a lot of stuff.
Sure would like a necklace.
Seeing as you're already making a clothing xpansion pack and all.

I am merely repeating complaints of clients. This in no way reflects my opinion. I think it is one of those things where you give them an inch and they expect a mile.

Okay, I'll try to organize what we have into some semblance of usability and we'll make it available for presale probably early next week.

Here's what we have finished at present:

MEN:
  • African Traditional Robes and Dashikis (both formal and casual) with a variety of African Hats
  • Middle Eastern Formal Jacket, tight with a variety of turban styles
  • Period 1800's style vest and high boots
WOMEN
  • African Traditional Robes and Dresses, Blouse/Skirt combinations with a variety of African Hats
  • Middle Eastern Dresses in a variety of styles and lengths, all of which can have partial or fully wrapped heads
  • Asian Dresses in a variety of styles and lengths
  • Mexican Dresses with a variety of styles
  • Period Dresses in a variety of styles and cuts
  • Elegant Party/Ballroom Dresses

All of them come with extensive texture color/pattern/decal options, and every standard actor comes dressed in ALL of the costumes (for their sex) regardless of their ethnicity.

Yes, we realize the women have a lot more options than the men, but this is an incomplete subsection of a new expansion pack and that's the way it's been generated. Also, the footwear is rather limited, and hair currently "pokes through" a number of the hats.

Normally we would not sell it in this state but since there's been such an outcry for it, we are willing to pre-sell the expansion pack for $75 now for those who can't wait. If you buy it now, we'll give you what we currently have and periodically add to it until it is complete and you have the final package.

To pre-purchase this you'll need to go to the ACCESSORIES page of the Website and at the very bottom you'll see a $25 Custom Modeling/Custom Work item. Add it the cart and then start to checkout. At the page where you can review your checkout items, change the number of items from 1 to 3 (to make it $75) and click the UPDATE CART button. You can then finish checking out.

Once you've paid the $75, email sales@frameforge3d.com with a note saying that you've pre-purchased the World Clothing Expansion Pack and we will send you a link to download it and a serial number to install it with. Due to the fact that it takes a human to process this presales, while you can make the pre-purchase payment at any time, the expansion pack download link will only be sent out Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

Sorry, but you did see the images of the men above the women, right? When did you send the images to Ken -- we've checked and he only got one from you.

Could you post them here?
