Division by Zero Problem!

Postby NinthLevelEnt » Sun Jan 29, 2012 3:30 pm

Hey there.

New user to FrameForge Pro 3. Seriously. Just purchased and downloaded it. Here's the problem I'm having...

Anytime I start a new session, and start building my set, everything is going just PEACHY until I try and add an actor or prop to my set. Once they're on the set, I cannot move them. If I try to, I get a window pop up that reads "Error. The application has encountered a problem. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Division by zero."

Shortly after, FrameForge stops responding, and I have to force-shut it down.

I've looked online to see what the issue is, and pretty much universally it suggests it's my graphics driver. I use an Nvidia GTX 460, and the drivers are updated. I know this because I literally JUST checked this when I started having this problem with FrameForge.

I tried using the method of starting FrameForge while holding the CTRL key (to disable hardware acceleration), but even that doesn't seem to work.

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate like HELL feeling like I just wasted SIX HUNDRED FRIGGIN' BUCKS on this software that I can't even use properly.

Does anyone have any ideas???

If it helps, my system specs are as follows:

ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 - AM3 - AMD 880G - DDR3 - USB 3.0 SATA 6 Gb/s - ATX Motherboard
AMD CPU HDZ955FBGMBOX Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz AM3 125W
Corsair 16 GB Vengeance Blue Low Profile 1600mhz PC3-12800 240-pin Dual Channel DDR3 Memory
Nvidia GTX 460 Graphics Card (updated drivers) - using two monitors
850W Power Supply

Forgot to also mention I'm running Windows 7. Not sure if that matters.

Anyone?

I tried calling Customer Support (DURING REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS), and had to leave a message. Tried calling back several times to catch someone, TO NO AVAIL. Now it is after business hours, and I'm frustrated beyond belief.

There's got to be someone out there who can help me.

I really don't want to believe I just wasted $600.

Dear NinthLevelEnt:

First off, you have not wasted any money. You have thirty days to return it, if you really want to -- though I hope you'll give it a chance as we believe we may have solved the problem you are having -- and we stand by that guarantee.

As to our support staff not getting back to you, it's probably because they were dealing with someone else, not that they were ignoring you. Also, (and I don't know that you did this) very often people speak their phone numbers so quickly that they end up garbled, and our support staff tries to call them back but is unable to decipher the number.

In any case, the division by zero error is something that has cropped up recently in certain, but not most, nVidia graphic card drivers, and we've been working on tracking down what is causing it, and trying to create a workaround for what appears to be a graphics card driver bug.

We believe we have a fix and we will make it available tomorrow (PST) after we do a bit more testing.

I sincerely hope you'll give us another chance to win you over, and I'll talk to our support department tomorrow to see what may have happened.

We've followed up with our support staff and the reason you hadn't gotten any call back is that we use VOIP and the internet connection was out most of that day, which meant that we could neither access email or phones. Lovely, I know.

As to the issue you're having, we think we may have a handle on it -- though as we can't reproduce the issue on any of our machines, we can't know for sure -- and will contact you directly to get it all worked out.

Thank you for your understanding.

This issue should have been resolved in the current version. Anyone experiencing it should, from within FrameForge, go to HELP -> CHECK FOR PROGRAM UPDATES and install all the ones it offers.
