no info about current tween count of selected range ?

Postby metaclay » Fri Jul 06, 2012 3:16 am

Hi, i got this workflow :
when create tweening, sometime i don't have fix duration between 2 key yet, the duration may change along the trial and error process to find the best duration. So i don't have the fix note about how many tween shot between let say shot A and B.
Now , In case i need to replace all the tween (between A and B) using the current duration , it means i have to count the current number of tween, so then i can type in the duration input in tween window. The problem, it's hard for me to count the current tween number between shot, i couldn't find that info, so i have to drag manually to count the frame. And i have to do this for other keyframe. Is there any faster way to do this ?

it will be handy if in shot manager window, i got info about how many shots is currently selected when i select multiple shots.

Thanx

I'm not sure I understand the problem. You say "so I can type in the duration", but when you recreate tweens, FrameForge automatically fills in the total duration field by adding up the durations of the existing tweens. So, if you just want to recreate some tweens with the same total duration, you could set it to auto-calculate the number of tweens, and set the frame rate.

Thax for the answer,
sorry if my question is not clear. ok, here the case : let say i will create tweens between key shot A and B, if i use 'auto calculate' , I have to fill in the total duration. The problem is : i don't know the current duration between the shot A and B , where can i find this info ? i'm thinking if i select range between shot A and B then frameforge can provide the total duration between the current selected range. Actually I can manually check, by counting the tween frames/shots , is there any faster way ?

Thanx.

i think i 've found what suppose to be the real problem. For some tweens , they're previously created not using 'auto calculate', but by feeding the frame number. So that's why when later i tried to 'auto calculate' over this range, the duration will be set to 0.00 sec. In other hand, If i create the tweens shots using 'auto calculate' then later when replace the tween, the duration is set correctly.

So, frameforge won't give the correct duration if the previouly created tweens ( current range) were created not using 'auto calculate'.

FrameForge isn't doing anything incorrectly, it's just that it has no way of knowing what the duration between two key frames should be until you set the duration at least once. Once you've specified the duration, it can assign the right duration to each tween, and then the next time you recreate tweens, it can add them up and figure out what the total duration was set to previously.
