Las Vegas Casino?

Created a cool set you want to share? Or perhaps you've made a great floor texture you think other people might want. Well this is the place to put them!

Las Vegas Casino?

Hello all,

Has anyone created a casino (with Blackjack, roulette, craps tables, and Slot machines)?

Mark,

If no one has made one, you think you could whip up a mock-up casino for download or something?

Thanks.

Well, you gave me a good excuse to avoid writing tonight--I've posted a craps table as a user object (in the user object forum) and both a basic roulette wheel and a slot machine in the Free Objects from Innovative Software forum.

Enjoy!

Casino Set

Postby Punisher » Wed May 03, 2006 10:12 am

I've made a casino set, but some of the images I used were taken without permission. So that is why I have not posted them.

Here is how I made it.

I downloaded tons of images that were of casino floors with slot machines in the background. I made a wall and pasted the image as a texture and played around with the size-ing until it looked good.

I made sure that the images had no people in them so it acts as a backdrop. For tables I used the craps tables and put the roulette wheel on some of the tables to make it look like a roulette table.

I just added actors in the frame and changed the color of the clothes for the dealers so you can tell who are dealers.

In medium or close-up shots I changed some sizes of items, like the deck of cards. I even made a pretty lame looking card shoe. Trust me, it looks pretty bad. Not worth the upload.

With a blackjack table in a medium or close up shot, I had the Ace of spades tilted so it can be seen easier, and I duplicated the same Ace of spades and spun it around until you could see the blue backing of the card. I placed this blue bacing card behind the Ace of spades and it looks exactly like a dealer's blackjack hand. I had to play with some elevation so it looked like the card was behind the ace and so it didn't disappear, but it worked.

In wide shots I find it's hard to make cards on tables look like anything because it's so small, unless you re-size them, but then they stick out and look weird.

If anyone can make a card shoe I would be very happy. I also may make some better poker chips, as I own some good quality chips that would be great as an object. I'm even of thinking of putting chip denominations on them to give it a realistic feel.

I forgot, to get the casino to look really good, I took some images from various sites of casino rugs, and used it as a texture for the flooring.

Hint. Make sure Dealers, Pit Bosses and Players are easy to spot.

I hope this helps.
