Removing multiple objects through percolation

Postby detsky » Thu Jun 07, 2012 8:28 am

Hi,

I had created a forest out of oak trees (billboard elements). I completed my first draft of the storyboard. I now want to replace this forest with pine trees throughout the storyboard. I was hoping to select all the oak trees, remove them all through percolation and then add the pine trees back in again. Unfortunately I can't remove multiple objects it seems.

Can anyone helpe me?

Best wishes,

Are you on the Mac as it seems to be working on Windows in the current version. Have you gone to HELP->CHECK FOR CURRENT UPDATES and installed all the latest ones it suggests?

Thanks for getting back to me. I am on a mac. I updated my version, but still when I go to Object - Percolate - it only allows me to percolate one object at a time. Hmph... Help! :?:

It appears that feature wasn't implemented on the Mac Version due to a small oversight. We should have an update soon, or, if it is urgent, you can to save the file in a cross platform format and email it to me in a private message with clear directions as to what you want percolated removed and we can do it for you and send you back the file.

Thanks. Be great if there was an update soon! :-)

In the meantime I found a workaround... I glued the forest together. Percolated the object's state throughout. Then removed the single object throughout. A little cumbersome, but none the less...

Thanks for your help and I look forward to the innovation on the mac.

Can I ask one more question: on the select window where you tick objects. Is there a way to select a whole list with shift? At the moment I am having to slowly click and select each object in one go.

There is a button at the bottom named "Select All Objects on List".

There is a new Mac version, 3.3.9.2, that can percolate a removal of multiple objects. Use Help > Check for Program Updates to get it.

Thanks for the update. I am aware of the "select all" button. I am saying, what if you have a heck of a lot of objects on the list and want to slect a large block of them. Normally one would select the top of the block you want to select and then the bottom on of the block holding shift. All inbetween are then selected.
