Packages with sets, wardrobe, and props!

Postby centaurus » Thu Mar 23, 2006 2:52 am

With the variety of base actors and actresses that you already presented in V2, we could manage to have instead packages that contain wardrobe, props and basic sets, which should have the appropriate poses and relationships: male and female? wouldn't that be easier than adding actors to every package? I don't know if I'm asking too much, sorry, but i wonder if you could universalize the process and just adapt those elements to the already actors/actresses general base we already have in the program.
Also, is there any possibility of adding children of various ethnicities as well?
These are just suggestions, I know you guys are working super hard to get us all happy!

Unfortunately, layering clothing on top of the actors is (a) not the most efficient way of doing it as the program is then rendering all the invisible polygons underneath the clothing and (b) the clothing is then not attached to the actor's skeleton so they will not deform correctly as they move. Unfortunately it doesn't work the way real life clothing does so at present this scheme is not technically feasible.

that explains it all. I didn't think in the polygon mapping factor. Thanks for your answer, this is an everyday learning experience. I'm actually grateful to be able to manipulate 3d objects not knowing anything about building them! You guys have given us that opportunity, let alone answering our silly questions!
Take care.
