A shot from Normandy

Postby Z-Boy » Thu Feb 15, 2007 11:37 am

I did a little Photoshop work on this, I don’t know much on PS but I did what I could.

Any suggestions on how to make it look more realistic, I’m thinking maybe some types of filters.

Z

P.S. feel free to copy and past so that you can tweak it in PS as well. Just post your changes in here for everyone to see.

I know this is for example, but the front waves used landing craft in which men were jam-packed together. They also rode so low in the water that many swamped before they got to the beach. You are great with detail, so your homework tonight is to put in about 1 billion bullets splashing into the water and leaving dust traces through the air. Oh, and there was serious fog that day.

I’m not really crazy good with Photoshop so doing all those extras would be a bit hard for me to do.

Feel free to do what you can with it, if you want to, seeing others talents is always fun.

Talent?!? I'm a DIRECTOR! I just yell at people.

You know why sound people go "Testing 1, 2. Testing 1, 2" ???

'Cause if they could count higher they'd become camera ops.

You know why directors go "Testing 1,1,1 Testing 1,1,1" ???

'Cause if they could count higher they'd become sound ops.

Like the WWII German Solder thread, I'd love to know how you added all the uniform, helmet, boots and apparel on these US Solders..

The detail is quite breathtaking.

Thanks in advance for your reply..

Hey Kevan, (if you still come on here)

I just saw this post :-) 2 years later.

So if you do still check the forums i did intense triall and error with making the texture for everything. Took me many many weeks to get everything where i wanted it.

Basically i got images off of the internet and figured out the shirt texture warping. I then added each detail through Photoshop and moved them around till i got what i wanted.

The guns and helmets and props i did intense searching on the internet for what i could find in VRML, i then edited the objects and textures to suit my needs and imported them to FF. Basically i had a lot of time on my hands for a job i wasn't getting paid for :-)

If you have any other questions, i will checking back a lot more then i was doing before so post them here..

Hope all is well,
Z
